Pamila Matharu and Vicky Moufawad-Paul Win 2019 OAAG Award!

It is so heartening to hear that Pamila Matharu and Vicky Moufawad-Paul have collaboratively won the 2019 Ontario Association of Art Galleries (OAAG) Award under the category of Exhibition of the Year: Budget under $20,000—Monographic!

Both Matharu and Moufawad-Paul received this award for the exhibition titled "One of These Things is Not Like the Other" at A Space Gallery. Matharu's debut solo exhibition was curated by Moufawad-Paul. The show was co-presented with the 32nd Images Festival (April 11-18, 2019) and ran from March 15th to April 20th, 2019.

Matharu also won the 2019 Steam Whistle Homebrew Award at the 32nd Images Festival.

Pamila Matharu is an immigrant-settler of South Asian descent, born in Birmingham, UK, based in Tkaronto. She is an interdisciplinary artist, educator, and cultural producer who works in installation art, social practice and lens-based strategies.

Vicky Moufawad-Paul is a Toronto-based curator and writer. She is the Director/Curator at A Space Gallery. She has curated exhibitions across Canada and published texts on a variety of art practices.
