Images Festival is excited to welcome Aaron Moore and Aaditya Aggarwal to our 2019 festival team! Aaron joins us as the 2019 Programming Assistant and Aaditya will be taking on a new festival role as Community Development Coordinator.
Aaron Moore is a Northern Irish born artist who's use of aesthetics aims to convince viewers to either abandon or suspend their pre-conceived methods of engaging with images. His work usually explores issues of war, violence, protest & the erasure/preservation of undocumented histories. Through presenting gestures, objects and images which try to de-concretize our view of reality, he aims to unhinge colonial and imperial modes of understanding. He graduated from OCAD University in 2017 after being awarded the OCADu Photography Medal and now holds a position as Programming Assistant at Images Festival.
Aaditya Aggarwal is writer, editor and film programmer based in Toronto and New Delhi. Most recently, Aaditya worked as Programmer at the 2018 Regent Park Film Festival, prior to being Programming Coordinator at the 2017 Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival. In 2016, he was the Sid Adilman Mentee at TIFF and the Online Editorial Intern at Canadian Art Magazine. Aaditya has also contributed writing on film, image, and text, to publications such as The New Inquiry, TIFF’s The Review, The Ethnic Aisle, as well as exhibition texts for Trinity Square Video, Koffler Gallery, SAVAC and FADO Performance Art Centre.
