Images Festival is seeking a Festival Assistant to join its team!

This position has been created to develop skills and provide practical experience related to festival management and general arts administration. Tasks and responsibilities include: assistance with the festival call for submissions process and database; tabulating results of audience surveys and analytics; tracking and filing festival press coverage; updating databases, distribution and communication lists; researching sponsorships and development opportunities; and researching outreach strategies to diverse communities.

 

This position will include remote work throughout the duration of the contract. As such, candidates from outside of Toronto will be considered.

 

The main duties for the Festival Assistant include:

  • Assist with the archiving of festival documents
  • Assist with the administration of the call for submissions
  • Assistance with database administration
  • Assistance with compiling and delivering social media, advertising, and press coverage
  • Communications Database support
  • Digital copy filing
  • Assist with grant reporting and analytics
  • Administrative and planning support to the festival Web and Submissions Manager

 

Skills and Experience:

We are open to a wide range of applicants for this position. Individuals with training and expertise in the cultural sector and media arts will be given preference. Experience working in artist-run centres will be considered an asset. People of various levels of experience—lived, educational, and professional—who feel they have the skills and competencies required to meaningfully contribute to this project are encouraged to apply. Given the remote nature of our current working conditions, applicants from outside of Toronto will be considered.

To Apply:

This is a temporary contract position reporting to the Web and Submissions Manager. Hours for the position are 28 hours per week from July 5 to September 10, 2021. The compensation for this position is $17.50 CAD per hour for approximately 280 hours, plus 4% vacation pay.
